This repository contains a script (se-install.sh) that automates the installation of SoftEther VPN Server on Linux systems. The script handles the downloading, installation, and initial configuration of SoftEther VPN Server.
Before running the installation script, please ensure that your system meets the following requirements:
- A Linux distribution (Debian/Ubuntu preferred as the script uses
apt-get) curlmust be installed on your system
To install SoftEther VPN Server using the se-install.sh script, you can run the following command in your terminal. This command uses curl to download the script and executes it with bash. Ensure you have internet connectivity and the ability to access GitHub where the script is hosted.
bash <(curl -Ls https://raw.githubusercontent.com/DrSaeedHub/SoftetherFastInstall/main/se-install.sh)To fully uninstall SoftEther VPN Server, stop and disable the service, and remove the installed files, run:
bash <(curl -Ls https://raw.githubusercontent.com/DrSaeedHub/SoftetherFastInstall/main/se-install.sh) --uninstall- Checks for necessary packages and installs them if they are missing (e.g.,
build-essential,checkinstall). - Downloads the specified version of SoftEther VPN Server.
- Compiles and installs the VPN server.
- Configures the VPN server to start automatically as a system service.
- Performs cleanup after installation.
When run with --uninstall, the script stops and disables the vpnserver service, removes the systemd service file, deletes the SoftEther install directory, removes old init scripts, clears temporary install files, and reloads systemd.
After installation, SoftEther VPN Server will start automatically. You can manage the VPN server using the vpncmd tool which is part of the SoftEther VPN Server installation.
