Atom is nowadays available pre-built for Linux too! 😀

Should we also update and recommend Sublime Text 3 instead of 2?

What about recommending packages for Python development with both editors? I have experience and I can recommend some :)

I'd add also emacs to the list of editors :)

@MattBlack85 If you agree that it's fair to add Vim too, sure 🐼

Of course are Emacs and Vim powerful and extendable editors. But it's also hard to get used to how they work if you start with programming. If people continue with programming after the tutorial they could still switch to another editor. I'm sure they will get enough recommendations from other people as they learn more.

FYI: We discussed this a few months ago in issue #3.

I stand with @keimlink on this. Let's not make it harder. I think this PL should fix one thing at a time.

Ditto. The tutorial/workshop is aimed at (total) beginners, editors like vi(m) or emacs are not intuitive for people who are new to the command line and coding.

Yeah, I agree that emacs/vim is not a beginner friendly tutorial. Merging this! Thanks for contribution :)
