Rural self-sufficiency kits in cash: Starlink first, then a 400 W panel, a second-life pack, a transfer switch. Habitat is CHOAM, not a Starship sticker.
This repo is a public sketch, not a company, not a SpaceX or xAI product, and not a financial instrument.
- Entry: Starlink. Canada 2026: Residential 100 is about $70 CAD/month; hardware $0 on a 12-month hook, or $499 to buy the kit.
- Expansions, in dollars: 400 W solar (
$650), 10 kWh used pack + BMS ($2,700), transfer switch + ESA (~$800). Volunteer install. - Out: thermoelectric generators as household kWh (3–5% conversion does not yield 60 W modules from a heat store). Out: a household token that funds kits (redeemable hardware is a security). Out: Starship-class habitats — that is CHOAM.
See whitepaper/whitepaper.md for the older token sketch. Treat it as history.
| Line | CAD |
|---|---|
| Starlink kit (if not rental) | 499 |
| Starlink Residential 100, yearly | 840 |
| 400 W panel + mount | 650 |
| 10 kWh second-life + BMS | 2,700 |
| Transfer switch + ESA | 800 |
A 400 W panel at ~1.2 kWh/day is ~36 kWh/month. At $0.14 that is about $5. It does not pay the Starlink invoice. The kit is connectivity plus a night load.
- Kit BOM v2.2 (token and TEG removed from the working model)
- Whitepaper v2.1 left in place as the prior sketch
- Concept art in-repo (
grok_image_*.jpg) — mood, not engineering
