Could it be possible to use Sideloader to sideload IPAs to Apple Silicon Mac’s?

Hi!

I am looking for an easy to use, CLI tool to install IPAs to an apple silicon Mac. I’ve been using sideloadly but I don’t like that it’s closed source and it doesn’t have a CLI interface (at least last time I checked), which would be crucial for the app I’m trying to make.

Do you think it could be possible to use this tool to sideload apps to apple silicon? Maybe it could use the Mac’s provisioning UDID to get the certificate and install with that?

It probably could be used for that, as there is a already a fork allowing tvOS sideloading.

I can't implement the feature myself though, as I don't own any Mac nor have enough money to buy one, so I can only wait for other people contributions, and help them if they want.

I would love to try to implement it myself, but I don't know much about this and I'm not very versed on any programming language (except for a bit of python and swift).

I do have a mac to test it but I don't have the coding skills to get it done unfortunately. Do you know any resources that can get me started? Maybe some day I'll be knowledgeable enough to make it happen!

I can't think of any, but that's because I don't actually know how macOS sideloading works at all. There are maybe some blog posts you could look at, or see if there are discussions in libimobiledevice about communication with a Mac device.

Hi!

I figured out that if I sign the IPA with a certificate linked to the device, I should be able to install it by double clicking it. I tested it with a cert I got from my paid dev account, so I don’t know how that could work on a free account.

Could there maybe be a test version or something where I can manually add my UDID and the app will register the device, sign the IPA, and return the signed IPA? I feel maybe that could work with free accounts on Mac!
