Hi, this is a great project, and I have looked for something like this in the past with no luck, so I was really happy to stumble across this. I am new to HomeAssistant, but getting the hang of it. I have followed the steps, but haven't had any luck getting this working, and have a couple of questions.

Excellent idea. Just think that there are too many hoops to jump through to get this working, too many places where the setup can go wrong. And not enough documentation to steer through errors and troubleshoot. At the start I ran into a 404. Then into a similar issue that Build-it-Bob encountered above, where the webpage displayed 'Queuing closed...". Had to verify each step of the Readme to ensure names used in Helpers aligned with the names referred to by the Automations triggers. This needed manual intervention/corrections. Now stuck with an issue when I search for a song on the jukebox and HASS throws me an error "An error occurred while searching for songs". Nothing logged in logs. This one seemed to be an issue with MA rather than the jukebox so more head-scratching required. Your work has my vote if it can be converted into a HACS addon for a smoother setup. Would be a killer gamechanger for house parties. Particularly loved the QR code. |

Hi, I came across this project and it seemed really cool. I already had Home Assistant running on my NAS, so I thought I'd give it a go. When adding any song to the queue via the web interface, I do see the queue notification being triggered, but the song is not added to the queue. I am using some Google Home/Nest devices (so chromecast) and some device groups I created. I have configured the jukebox automation (and the html file) to use a group called media_player.downstairs_2 (the _2 got added as this is the MA version of the group). I have connected my spotify account and can search for songs without any issue. Manually adding a song to the group's queue also works. Even the queue length automation works, because as soon as that initial song is finished, MA will start playing my predefined playlist. Can't seem to figure out why selected songs do not end up in the queue. Any help or pointers are highly appreciated. Btw, I also tried with a specific device (instead of a device group) to see if that would work, but gives the same issue. UPDATE: One question though, I noticed that if the queue is empty, adding the first song into the queue does not automatically start the player. Is there already anything automated around this I could use? Otherwise I think I can create my own automation around this, since we already have the queue notification and the queue counter. |

I've noticed that my queue never decreases as songs finish, but instead, those songs are moved from "QUEUE" to "PLAYED" so it just keeps increasing. Since the queue never returns to 0, my default playlist doesn't start and I'm left without any music. Maybe I missed something? |

Hi. I love the look of this project but I am getting stuck at step 2. Apologies I am still fairly new to HA. Step 2 has this: "Create these helpers in Home Assistant by adding this code to your configuration.yaml or creating them via in Settings > Devices and Services > Helpers :" It looks like there's something missing between the "via" and "in"? I can't seem to find a way to add it as it exists via the UI. I think I am probably missing something? Also don't seem to be able to access config/configuration.yaml via the File editor add-on (probably my own lack of knowledge there). Thanks for any help. |

Good day DJS91 How to solve the "An error occurred while searching for songs" issue? Thank you :-) |

If we installed this manually (the old way) and now want to install via HACS... what do we need to remove from the old install? The manual html/bg file? the configuration.yaml code? the automations we created manually? the switches? Just want to make sure I don't mess something up reinstalling this via HACS. Thanks! |

Is there a way to have this setup on multiple players. For example have a living room jukebox, kitchen jukebox, etc? |

Hey there. I just installed Music Assistant and Music Assistant Jukebox. I have a question in case I have not set up either correctly. Does the search function return only 10 items? For example, If I search for DMX, it will only show 10 tracks/ I ask as it appears that I need to very specific with spelling. If I am wrong, I do apologies. Maybe someone can point me in the right direction? |
