sea024 m25 altimeter seeing 40 m "hits" before getting close to the bottom

The altimeter is "seeing" a hit at a range of 40 m (close to the max range) for most of the dive. It seems to work ok when it really does get close to the bottom (within 40m), and it hasn't yet caused any issues.

Not sure if this is related to the 10dB setting or something specific to this altimeter.
