First Time Setup

When you launch AkademiTrack for the first time, you'll need to configure your Feide login credentials. This guide will walk you through the setup process.

What You'll Need

Before starting, make sure you have:

• Your Feide username (usually your school email address)
• Your Feide password
• The name of your Akademiet school

Setup Process

Step 1: Launch AkademiTrack

When you first open AkademiTrack, you'll see the "Feide Pålogging" (Feide Login) window.

Step 2: Select Your School

1. Click on the "Skolenavn" (School name) dropdown menu
2. Select your Akademiet school from the list

Available schools include:

• Akademiet Drammen Sundland
• Akademiet Oslo
• And other Akademiet locations

Step 3: Enter Your Feide Username

1. In the "Feide Brukernavn" (Feide Username) field
2. Enter your full Feide email address
3. Format: fornavn.etternavn@skole.akademiet.no

Example: ola.nordmann@skole.akademiet.no

Step 4: Enter Your Feide Password

1. In the password field (below the username)
2. Type your Feide password
3. The password will be hidden as you type for security

Step 5: Save Your Credentials

1. Click the "Lagre og fortsett" (Save and continue) button
2. Your credentials will be encrypted and stored securely on your device
3. AkademiTrack will validate your login information

Step 6: Setup Complete

Once your credentials are saved:

• The Feide login window will close
• You'll be taken to the main AkademiTrack window
• Your credentials are now saved for future use
• AkademiTrack will automatically log in for you going forward

Security Information

Your login credentials are protected in multiple ways:

Encryption

• All credentials are encrypted before being stored
• Encryption uses industry-standard methods
• Your password is never stored in plain text

Local Storage Only

• Credentials are stored only on your device
• No data is sent to external servers
• The developers cannot access your login information

Secure Authentication

• AkademiTrack uses the official Feide authentication system
• Your credentials are sent directly to Feide's servers
• The same login method used by iSkole

Changing Your Credentials

If you need to update your login information later:

1. Open AkademiTrack
2. Click the "Innstillinger" (Settings) button
3. Go to the "Automatisering" section
4. Click "Endre innloggingsopplysninger" (Change login credentials)
5. Enter your new information
6. Click "Lagre" (Save)

Troubleshooting First Time Setup

Problem: "Invalid credentials" error

• Double-check your username is the full email address
• Verify your password is correct
• Make sure you selected the correct school
• Try logging into iSkole directly to confirm your credentials work

Problem: Cannot find my school in the dropdown

• Make sure you're looking for "Akademiet" schools
• Contact support if your school is missing
• You may need to wait for an update that includes your school

Problem: "Connection error" message

• Check your internet connection
• Try again in a few minutes
• Feide servers may be temporarily down

Problem: Setup window won't close after saving

• Restart AkademiTrack
• Your credentials should still be saved
• Try the setup process again if needed

Optional: Enable Auto-Start

After completing first time setup, you can enable auto-start features:

Auto-Start Automation

• Automatically begins monitoring when AkademiTrack launches
• No need to click "Start automatisering" manually
• Enable in Settings → Automatisering

Start with System

• Launches AkademiTrack when your computer starts
• Combined with auto-start automation for fully hands-off operation
• Enable in Settings → Generelt
• Note: Currently not working on Linux
