Option to "Play Now" with a determined name and gender

I'd love the possibility of being able to choose a specific gender/sex and name.

Solution you would like.

I always choose "Play Now", and love to be surprised with whatever role/stats/inventory/location...etc the game chooses, love that, however I prefer to play as a bloke and with a specific name. So every time I play, first thing I have to do is hit the "y" choose gender (cause for whatever reason 90% of the time it chooses female) and then change the name, problem with this is, when it generates the game as a female but the avatar doesn't change, so I'm stuck with a chick even though I've changed its gender and Name.

Describe alternatives you have considered.

For this reason I would love to be able to select in the options menu gender=male and name=whatever. So that when "Play Now!" generates the game it keeps those to choices.

Additional context

If this is already possible, I would love to know how. I have seen Name: in the options menu, but does not respect the choice in the Play Now mode.

When you are in-game with your save file loaded, you can go into the character stats screen '@' and then hit 'y' to change name/gender at will to anything you like at any time during game play. You're saying the in-game character sprite doesn't change gender when doing this, that would be a bug. I tested it just now on the UltiCa and Cuteclysm tile sets and the sprite does change correctly between the male/female version. I'm not sure if you have a different tile set or there's just something wrong with your game version. Posting your version/tileset would help for this issue.

I tested the gender on 10 "Play now" games, 6/10 were female for me. Probably still a coincidence and it's just unlucky that your game rolls female more often.

Correct, it doesn't change sprite.

Ah, okay, I use MSXotto+ tileset, but also the clothes specific to gender/sex don't change.

I mean certain clothes, like gender/sex specific clothes, generally female clothes like bras and skirts or male clothes like boxer shorts... that sort of thing... Don't mean unisex type clothing.

In the character creation menu, it should be as you say. Including clothes.

However, in the game, clothes are different items with no relation to each other. Clothes don't have a relation to gender. In the game, gender is cosmetic, which is why it is allowed to change at no cost. However, different clothes have different properties, they cannot be changed like that.

If the clothes changed with the gender in the game: If you are in panties and a bra, change from female to male and back. What is with the bra? Does it disappear and appear? What if you took it off or it is damaged? Does the bra stay but the panties change? Skirt? What is equivalent to that? Surely not jeans, that is completely different. You cannot change from female to male in freezing cold to generate pants to keep yourself warm. Etc. Etc.

And if you wanted to support any of that, that surely would be a lot of unnecessary code that would not be realistic, it would be breaking the immersion.

Just making a male equivalent to a female skirt is wrong. A skirt is a skirt. For men and women. There is no men version of a skirt if a men wears a skirt, they wear the same as a women does.

I created another game and it started with a female when changed to male, this time the sprite changed accordingly, it was a "senior citizen character", so perhaps it's just that certain professions only have one gender/sex sprite for both genders/sex... on the MSXotto+ ?
