In the config file mob_max_mob is reset on every restart

Whatever value I put in is simply overwritten by the default, is there some way to modify this value live?

My apologies for the delay. The command to adjust this value live is:

/mcullhardlimit maxmob 5000
/mcullhardlimit pmulti 2

Recall that the multiplier against the online player count reduces the maxmob. As for the other issue, I'll look into it.
