auth error when uploading on second launch #1275

Description

When uploading to a self-hosted backend there is an error related to auth - preventing upload.

Reproduction

  • The backend is hosted on Railway, deployed with the one-click.
  • The web app works as expected, including sign in, emails, sharing etc.
  1. Install the app via Brew, launch

  2. set self hosted backend cap.website.com

  3. login as normal

  4. record short video (10s)

  5. export to shareable link

  6. this works as normal

  7. completely exit the app - right click in dock and exit

  8. launch again

  9. record short video (10s)

  10. export to shareable link

  11. the error says "Failed to upload recording"; in the console, it says "User is not authenticated or credentials have expired!

"Simply signing out and back in again does not seem to solve this.

The only remedy I have found is to update backend url, (e.g. changing it to .co, then back to .com) and signing in again. This seems to continue to work until the app completely exits again.

Additional Context

  • Cap version: 0.3.76
  • Operating system, version: Sequoia 15.6.1
  • Device (optional): M3 Pro Macbook Pro, 36 GB RAM

Log file is attached though nothing obvious can be seen
