How much of what we see is just due to quirks of that particular year?

Unless Kyle or his colleagues have done so, we ought to carefully assess the repeat year (84/85) atm forcing with the atm climatology. -> Kyle: Can you share with us (sea ice) what you have or what you plan, pls?

Also: Can we highlight literature/reports that compare JRA with other atm data, with view to high-latitude issues?
