We can at least have some tests that exercise smaller parts of the model. Examples are the Celia test case for infiltration through dry soil.
We should also think about more extensive test cases (e.g., FluxNet data, borrowed from CLM)
We can also evaluate the extent to which we can use the CLM unit tests.
