previous unsubscribes not being resubscribed with plugin form

I tested our home page sign-up widget to make sure that, if someone who has unsubscribed fills it in again later, they will be re-subscribed.

Unfortunately it does not. Sadface. Ideally the widget should push into the Salsa record (ie, overwrite any previous value) for “receive email” as 3. 3 means they’ve signed up directly using a form. Do you know if it would be possible to tweak the widget so it pushes the receive email value?
