"az resource list" is stuck onto one resource-group.  #17977

Closed

Description

az feedback auto-generates most of the information requested below, as of CLI version 2.0.62

Describe the bug

"az resource list" gives me an error saying : ERROR: Resource group 'learn-8be81bb3-401f-4503-93e3-a8fc0eaec7e8' could not be found. Even when i try to get a resource list of another resource group, i still get the same error. Its like the command is bound to this specific resource group.(NOTE: I also use Microsoft Learn which gives me that "learn" resource group, Yes I've changed subscription to my personal one.) That's where the error comes from even though Ive never made a resourced group named that way.

To Reproduce

Expected behavior

to give me resource list from all my resource groups.

This is expected behavior from a configured default resource group rather than a bug in the CLI. az resource list honors the default set by az configure --defaults group=<name>, and the Microsoft Learn sandbox sets that default automatically.

Running az configure --defaults group= clears the default, after which az resource list returns resources across all of your resource groups. Closing on that basis.
