Sleex scripts and applets - Possible optimization required #59
Description
I installed AxOS with Sleex on the same laptop I have Debian Testing + KDE. Upon the first boot I could hear the CPU fan running on a low RPM, however in Debian it's usually off. The CPU meter on the panel is constantly ~20%, top showing ags as the worst offender.
In gaming I loose ~10-15 FPS when compared to Debian on the integrated GPU.
When I turn off the system status indicators AND rename the network speed tester python script so it can not run anymore performance seems to drop drastically, from constant ~20% to 0 with 4% spikes every 10-ish second.
To me it seems that optimization is required in these applets / scripts or at least increase their sampling time as a start. While my i5-7200U is not new, it should be more than capable of handling a minimalist UI without impact.
