Assember: No way to restore Front Page template if deleted #7949

Open

Description

Quick summary

If a user deletes the content of their Front Page template by accident, they do not have a way to restore it.

I suspect this is caused by the way the theme's Front Page is created "on the fly" during onboarding but we are seeing multiple instances of this issue in the forums https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/homepage-suddenly-a-blank-template/?view=all#post-4052150

Steps to reproduce

  1. Set up a site using Assembler.
  2. Go to Editor > Templates and delete all blocks inside the Front Page template.
  3. Notice there is no way to restore it.

What you expected to happen

I would expect the initial homepage to be stored somewhere and to be able to reset it, like it happens with other themes.
