Steps to replicate

1. Create a new post
2. Give it a custom excerpt
3. Set a Varia Child theme
4. Head to a listing/archive where this post should show

I was able to reproduce this with all the Varia Child themes I tried.

Result

The custom Excerpt does NOT show on the homepage (if set to recent posts) or in the blog page (if the homepage is a static page). Here is an example of what the /blog page looks like, using MORDEN

Interestingly enough, the excerpt DOES show on all other archive types: category, date, search, and author. Here is an example of an author archive where the excerpt DOES Show.

Expected

I would expect custom excerpts to display on all archive pages, including home/blog.
