When disabling Edit Flow, posts with custom statuses are no longer accessible

If a user has set posts with custom statuses and then deactivates Edit Flow, those posts are no longer accessible. It would be nice if, once Edit Flow is disabled, a user can still access those posts. Maybe posts with custom statuses could automatically revert to "Draft" when disabled?

This was partially by design to avoid all of your painfully organized posts from reverting to "draft" if the plugin was accidentally deactivated.

Instead, I might recommend some user interface or similar where the user can convert all of their custom status posts to "Draft".

Alternatively, and this might be the easiest approach, you can just add some documentation to the website explaining what the user should do to deactivate the plugin / move all of the posts to their proper place. Clear explanations that empower the user can often be much easier than trying to invent UX.

+1 for stating this clearly on the Custom Statuses page of the Edit Flow site, as it's a very important consideration for many people (especially those who don't really need the feature and might leave it de-activated to avoid the worries inherent to custom statuses in WP in general).

A way to view all posts with a custom status would be very helpful, maybe a filter link to the POSTS > EDIT page for anything that's not Public/Draft/Pending/Future?

But if you dont have time, at least tell me how is it possible that after restoring the database of my WP site, Edit Flow options are not changed! Where do the plugin store the custom statuses options?
Please, tell me at least how to restore Edit Flow´s options to its default.

I believe custom statuses are stored as custom taxonomy terms in the wp_terms table, but I'm not 100% sure but I do see those terms in my DB table. I don't know how they apply to posts and their status.

I read your post on .org about scrubbing your database for 'edit_flow'. You should also look for the prefix 'ef-' and 'ef_' which are used in the taxonomy tables.

The post statuses are not prefixed ( though my data is from a very old install, so it may be different in recent versions ). Look for 'post_status' in wp_term_taxonomy.taxonomy. Those values will be used in wp_posts.

I am guessing the problem you are experiencing is because the old status slug is in wp_posts.status for those post's you cannot see. If you remember the slugs for those custom statuses then search for in wp_posts and update status to 'draft' ( or whatever status you wish).
