`apple_dcp.show_notch` kernel parameter doesnt work after `6.17.12-asahi`

I've used my M2 Air with Debian as a daily driver since late 2024. Currently I'm running 6.17.12 as that is the last Asahi kernel that worked with the apple_dcp.show_notch=1 kernel parameter. Every kernel version after that seems to ignore it, and boots with the whole black bar on top (which reduces the resolution and causes issues probably because my KDE is setup for the full 2560x1664).

Here's a list of available kernels from forgejo newer than 6.17, all of which no longer work with the switch:

Has this parameter changed in name, or has to be applied in userspace through KDE systemsettings in the newer kernel, or has it simply stopped working as a bug?

This worked! It would be great to make this feature more easily customizable from userspace (or maybe it is in Fedora already, I havent tried the flagship Asahi)

One weird thing, my cursor has a black square around it in the default 24pt size (smaller sizes dont have the square but theyre too small for this resolution). This is with the default Breeze and Breeze light cursors (some other cursors ive tried from marketplace do the same but above 24pt size).

Only reason I mention this under a kernel bug is 6.17.12 didnt have this, despite both that and 6.18.9 running the native 2560x1664 resolution. Should I file a new bug, or this is something with KDE?
It's odd because if I boot the old kernel, the cursor shows properly when in the default 24pt size.

Here's the KDE info. If relevant I could include the full asahi report but I dont think that'll help. Im running latest KDE from Debian stable, with fully functioning 3D accelerated graphics.
