I think something like this would be neat to have so I added it for private use, but maybe it would be useful to others too so maybe it could be a good addition?

Thanks for your PR, unfortunately I cannot merge this until this comes with some kind of configuration window where users will be able to configure hotkeys and set desired resolution value. I will keep this PR open for now in case you'd like to add this functionality or until I implement something like this myself.

Yeah my plan was just to bring the idea up while also providing the tiny bit of code I already wrote. If I get bored I'll probably implement it properly with a configuration, but I don't have a lot of time right now. I don't mind if you have a look at it yourself, but if not maybe I will in a few days :)
