In -> Stores -> Configuration -> Sales -> Delivery Methods -> USPS -> Account Number

It says -
Account Number | Website | Your USPS account number, used for payment for REST API.
Note: This field is optional; however, it is required to enable shipping label creation.

There is no USPS account number. According to emails with USPS there is no "USPS Account NUmber". They call it a "EPS Account Number". I believe what this section is referring to is the EPS number. To get this number you have to enroll in SHIP/USPS APIs

To ship with USPS using a business account, you must add a payment account. You can add additional payment methods (and change your primary method) once your primary payment method is established.

The field is misleading because it ask for a USPS account number. It should be labeled EPS account number. And it should state that this section is not required unless you are using USPS to to create labels and ship directly with USPS.

In my case I am using ShipStation.

Update: I am now finding that the "Account Number" that the instructions says is optional is required as Magento will not let me save the USPS shipping form unless I provide it. It says - This is a required field.

In addition another field - Manifest MID, that the Adobe instructions says is optional is also a required field. (I am in the process of emailing USPS to find this Manifest MID because it is nowhere to be found on the USPS website. The Mailer MID is there but Adobe (Magento2) wants both).

Update: The best I can find is that per USPS email the Manifest MID and Mailer MID are the same number.
