Unknown launch mode: a dash word with a quoted variable reports the raw variable text as an exact value #245

Problem

In the Unknown initial state mode, Parse reports an exact value that contains raw variable text, for a dash word that holds a quoted variable.

Source SST value (Unknown mode) bash argv
for n in a x; do tool -o"$n"; done Exact { -o$n } -oa, -ox
for n in a; do git -C"$n" status; done Exact { -C$n } -Ca

The same happens with -xo"$n", -o"${n}", and -o"$n"x. The Fresh and Isolated modes give the correct values. The base commit d197ba3 (0.4.0-beta.21) has the bug too.

Impact

  • A consumer gets a wrong exact value. A path check or a value check can see -o$n and not the real value.
  • PR Add literal twins of Bash loop values #242 (literal twins) gives no twins in Unknown mode for this reason.

Expected

  • In Unknown mode, the value of such a word is Unknown, or it is the correct value set.
  • Add tests that compare the value with real bash.

Found by the verification of PR #242 (scratchpad probe twinprobe3).
