How can i stop the auto scan of this software looking for litterally all the files on my computer on startup?

I just don't get it. Why make this thing automatically scan for the entirety of my computer? (which on top of that cannot be stopped by pressing "ESC" when you have an update available). Why not make something that just scan if and where you ask it to do so and report nothing if there's nothing to find? Because of that this software creates a huge amont of files for nothing. Please at least make it not scan as soon as you open it the first time

FModel only look for specific files (.pak, .utoc, .ucas, ...) in the directory you specify, not all the files on your computer. Properly setup the game directory and it will work fine.

Well, this software isn't really doing a good job doing so. Haven't seen something that bad in a while

You surely find it easy to use since you're used to it, but i don't and i don't feel this particularly well designed. "Properly setup the game directory and it will work fine." Well if one day the overall thing is more intuitive, i might do that. But i don't think i'm going to use this

then feel free to leave suggestions (there's plenty of them) on how to improve the first window new users see

so that next time you come by, you don't ignore it and/or put a random directory, then blame the software for scanning that directory.

Then, you will be doing a huge disadvantage only to yourself.

FModel is not a commercial program with shiny UI and it doesn't need to be. You just have to try and adapt and at some point you will have a good idea how to use the program. FModel is not very intuitive but its purpose is to give us information we need to mode games and frankly it does it quite well.

Just look for some videos on YT. Last_Ghost-GAMING might be a good start. This person made lots of videos on modding including FModel. There are also Discord channels. The information is there and it only depends on you if you want to find it.
