Support for tikzexternal

After including the package with \usepackage{karnaugh-map}, even an empty environment like \begin{karnaugh-map}\end{karnaugh-map} results in an error:

Hmm, I'm unable to reproduce your issue. Many of the tests are actually empty environments.

Have you managed to figure it out?

Seems the package was conflicting with me using tikzexternal (which precompiles all tikz images to PDF-s to avoid recompiling all the images every time anything changes). Are there any plans to support it?

To answer your question; no, not really. I've only looked at tikzexternal quickly. Do you know what support for tikzexternal would entail in terms of changes? Is that something you would like to implement?

No clue. I know how to write LaTeX documents, but haven't got any expertise in macros

Okey. I've changed the title and I'll leave this issue open. This is not something I'm interested in implementing.

However if anyone is interested in adding support for tikzexternal that is all good and well. Some preliminary requirements;

• use of tikzexternal should not be required
• the flag --shell-escape should not be required to use the package when tikzexternal is not in use
• ideally not to many code changes
