Description
This is a positive feedback on a UI detail change in macOS 26.1 beta.
In macOS 26.1 beta, the inspector panes now have a subtle detail in their corners. In macOS 26, the inspector was separated from the adjacent pane by a simple straight line. However, in macOS 26.1, the corners of the inspector are slightly rounded, giving the impression that it rests atop the main pane.
This change is minor, and since the radius of the corner is also small, it doesn’t seem to be related to the concentric circles extruded in the 26 series. Nevertheless, I believe that these small details reinforce the idea that the inspector is supplementary information added to the main content pane.
As mentioned in my previous feedback, such as FB18481416 or FB18922942, I have several thoughts about the visual presentation of the sidebar and inspector in Tahoe. However, I’m positive about this change. To be honest, I still believe the sidebar and inspector presentations should be reversed, as I mentioned in FB18922942. However, considering compatibility with other platforms, a significant change would likely be challenging.
I imagine you’re still in the experimental phase with the macOS Tahoe 26 UI. I hope that with adjustments like this, things will gradually improve in the future.
