Can a deCONZ DDF be used as a template to create a quirk?

I bought a device that isn't fully supported by ZHA. But it looks like deCONZ supports it, because I found a thread that contains a deCONZ DDF and a user reporting that the device works with it. As I understand it, a DDF for deCONZ is like a quirk for ZHA. So can the information in the DDF be used to create a quirk?
