ESP8266 Architecture Configuration

As a developer I would like to have ESP8266 architecture configuration supported in Zephyr so that ESP8266 chips can be supported.

ESP32 and ESP8266 are different SoCs, based on different Xtensa cores. Is there any reason this is being listed in the ESP32 epic and is not its own epic?

Leandro Pereira , it got pulled in when we first engaged with Espressif and the rest of the community. There isn't a separate epic at the moment. No problem if it is separated.

Seems interesting as this is part of the Arduino Primo which main processor (nRF52) is already supported by Zephyr:

Sorry to arrive quite late, but ESP8266EX is still distributed as the last revision of the ESP8266, and isn't masked deprecated or EOL anywhere.
Dealing with all the revisions of the ESP-XX will be painful, but we should certainly support these.

Also ESP32 seems much more greedy in regard of power consumption.
