can i stop lua instance by lua code? os.exit(3) not work and report an error

if  ok then
   os.exit(3)  --  attempt to index a non-table object(function) with key 'exit'
end

and call L.close() in go always throw an error:

runtime error: invalid memory address or nil pointer dereference

system module os can not be used anymore? or other function can be instead to exit.
