Which tool

tidal-gui and tidal-dl

Describe the feature

Would love a warning somewhere in the documentation that let's you know that Tidal does not return Genre information on any AAC/MP3/M4A etc. file and therefore you won't have this data in your metadata of downloaded files.

This is due to the fact that they do not really surface genre information to the user typically

This is unintuitive for anyone new to this tool and Tidal.

I plan to use https://picard.musicbrainz.org/ to try and fill out the missing data in my tracks downloaded from Tidal DL (genre, release date, record label, some other bits and bobs)
