Description

I needed to create an image that has 3 rounded corners. The standard frame only supports having all corners rounded. And this works; IsClippedToBounds is hereby respected.

I saw an example on how to do this with a custom renderer so that you can pass 4 values for CornerRadius with each value representing the corner radius for 1 of the corners. However when I see the result, IsClippedToBounds is no longer respected and the content of the frame shows as a square.

See the sample project for a very clear example of 3 scenarios.

  • A standard frame with content and IsClippedToBouds="True"
  • A custom frame without content and with 4 different CornerRadius values passed for each corner (also works)
  • A custom frame with content and with 4 different CornerRadius values passed for each corner and IsClippedToBounds="True"

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a custom renderer using the FrameRenderer from Xamarin.Forms.Platform.Android.AppCompat.FrameRenderer (So I can check if Control. Background is of type GradientDrawable and use SetCornerRadii() on the background)
  2. In the custom frame class create an overload for CornerRadius so that you can give corner radius values for each corner
  3. Put the custom frame on any page and give it some nice round corners
  4. Set IsClippedToBounds to True
  5. Insert some content filling up the whole frame
  6. You'll see that IsClippedToBounds is not respected

Expected Behavior

Respecting IsClippedToBounds so that all 4 corners of the frame will have the given CornerRadius value and the content is clipped to that.

Actual Behavior

IsClippedToBounds is ignored and the content is shown as a square

Workaround

I found a workaround by doing almost the exact same thing with a custom ContentView instead of a Frame. My example for this was the PancakeView Github repo.
