seem to have it sorted now, change the IP addresses a few times and finally things connected, seem it didn't like being in 192.168.1.xxx and works in 192.168.0.xxx ? thanks |

hi all
hoping someone can help me out as i haven't got a clue what im doing.
i have been attempting to connect to a Solis inverter through a Waveshare 485 to ethernet device without any luck. i have followed a number of links and tutorials but must be overlooking something as it will not connect and i get error logs stating 'cannot find serial number' and 'unrecognised inverter type'
using vircom i can set the waveshare up with a static IP address, baud rate of 9600 , port 502, modbus_tcp_protocal and simple modbus gateway as per the attached pictures( not sure they will work)
in the solax intergration i have set the inverter as Solis, modbus 1, given it the IP address and port number etc. but cant get it to connect. i have also tried the setting the integration to Solis-old but that didnt make any difference.
i expect the issue is simple but never having used home assistant or tried integrating things before i dont really know where to start fault finding any hlep would be appreciated.
extra info:
i have powered the waveshare unit from a 12v 'wall wort' as i didnt realise the Solis only put out 5V,.
only the A and B connections have been made from the inverter to the waveshare. not sure what i should use for the ground connection?
