URL: https://flasher.meshtastic.org/
URL: https://client.meshtastic.org/

Browser / Version: Firefox 117.0
Operating System: Windows 10
Tested Another Browser: Yes Chrome

Problem type: Site is not usable
Description: Browser unsupported
Steps to Reproduce:
Firefox don't have COM port Web API. I'm disappointed, and I'm forced to switch to chromium based browser until you add support for COM port.

We appreciate your report. I was able to reproduce the issue by following the steps to reproduce:

Screenshot_2

Tested with:

Browser / Version: Firefox Release 117.0.1 (64-bit)/ Firefox Nightly 119.0a1 (2023-09-24) (64-bit) /Chrome Version 117.0.5938.92 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Operating System: Windows 10 PRO x64

Notes:

  1. Reproducible regardless of the status of ETP.
  2. Reproducible on the latest build of Firefox Nightly and Release.
  3. Works as expected using Chrome.

Moving this to NeedsDiagnosis for further investigations.

This is Web Serial, so it's a dupe of https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1835414

Thank you. I understand. Currently, Gecko is the last alternative engine and Firefox last browser that not based on Chromium. Please don't do another mistake like Internet Explorer do before in history.
