Thank you for reporting this issue, I was able to reproduce it. The audio is muted by default on Firefox regardless if the the audio is allowed or blocked in the browser settings.

Tested on:
• Browser / Version: Firefox Nightly 113.0a1 (2023-04-09) / Firefox Release 111.0.1 / Chrome 112.0.5615.50 / Edge 111.0.1661.48
• Operating System: Windows 10

Notes:

1. Reproducible on both Firefox Release and Nightly
2. Not reproducible on Chrome and Edge

@sv-calin Thanks for taking a look at this! Even though you already said you could reproduce, I can add some more links. I would comment on Bugzilla but I don't have an account.

The site also has clips which are short MP4 videos, and they play fine, such as this: https://kick.com/gmhikaru?clip=28895 🔊

However, the majority of the site is for live streams and VOD:s, which are HLS video streams assisted with javascript, and those are the ones muted. Here's an example VOD link: https://kick.com/video/db0139c8-dfa3-4499-874b-2487920bf497 🔇

That must be a website policy. They always mute the video when starting playback instead, we probably want to reach out. We've implemented https://w3c.github.io/autoplay/ for this exact purpose.
