TL;DR: 2019 Macbook not recognising an ultrawide monitor. Is the fix to manually set the resolution and if so, is this only available in the Pro version as I can't see it in the version downloaded?
Thanks for BetterDisplay, it looks like a fantastic product. If I can solve my issue then it would be even better!
I'm running a 2019 Macbook with the Intel i9 chipset. I've recently bought a LG Ultrawide monitor with a native resolution of 3,440x1,440 and an aspect ratio of 21:10. My Macbook is trying to force everything to the same aspect as the native display so I'm ending up with stretched render of my screen, hence turning to BetterDisplay for help. My Macbook is connected to a KVM switch via USB-C and then to the monitor via HDMI.
I've enabled HiDPi and while this has expanded my resolution options, none are in the right aspect ratio. I'm after either the full 3440x1440 or 2752x1152 and scaling by 125%.
I've added these as Custom scaled resolutions, which are shown as "Currently available as HiDPI" but they aren't in the list of resolutions, either in the native Settings or in the drop down in better display.
Having read the wiki, I think this may be caused by my Macbook not understanding the native display resolution of my ultrawide monitor. The wiki says that I can manually set the native display resolution for the monitor but I'm not seeing the option under "System Configuration and Flexible Scaling". Is this a Pro feature? If it is, I'm happy to upgrade but want to check that this will fix my problem first.
Thanks for the help!
