Good news: in general, the stable app version works fine on Tahoe.

The following settings are recommended to fix some of the issues:

• Disable "Auto Brightness" for built-in and Apple displays (using the BD menu) - otherwise brightness changes may revert within a few seconds
• Turn off OSD icons and the nits counter under Settings > Keyboard > OSD - this fixes OSD icons appearing in the middle of the display (as the native OSD is now no longer there).

The app is being updated to fix all of these issues. Once done, an updated version will be posted as an internal pre-release.

I'm currently using it on macos 26 and haven't encountered any bugs yet, except that the HDR settings failed when I first plugged in the monitor, but it returned to normal after plugging it in again.

Yes, the app mostly works with Tahoe beta1. There are some minor annoyances though:

• The design obviously does not yet reflect the new Liquid Glass aesthetics
• Since the OSD is now redesigned, some of the custom OSD UI outputs (like the nits counter etc) look misplaced.

Feature-wise, everything I tested so far seems to work fine.

I will provide a number of internal pre-releases that iteratively adapts Liquid Glass and accommodates the changes. But since the UI change is a major one, this will take some time. :) My goal is to make the app's look&feel will be just right in Tahoe.

Hi, I don't know if this is a potential issue, I haven't encountered it on macOS 15. After I connected the monitor cable and started my MacBook, BetterDisplay could not turn on the monitor's HDR, it seemed that it recognized my monitor as not HDR capable. But after replugging it everything worked again. Hope you can try to solve this problem if you have time.

Auto Brightness is not compatible with BetterDisplay brightness controls.

The disconnect option toggle is grayed out.

I have two external monitors plus the MBP screen. I was able to “disconnect” the MacBook display and turn it off.

After updating to Tahoe, I can’t find that option anywhere and as mentioned the toggle is grayed out. Also grayed out for the other two monitors.

Note: discussed at Discord - Pro was not enabled. Disconnect should work both for internal and external displays.

Tahoe beta2 is out. App still works fine, but I need to redo/finetune some of the changes I made for Tahoe beta1... Well, that was expected - a disadvantage when one jumps to new things right away. But on the other hand I am far ahead now compared to those who start adapting their apps after public betas are out and things are settled. 🙂

Here is the new app icon.

Since the control center sliders no longer have the circular style, it was no longer fit to have them in the icon, so I switched to something else that still makes the logo familiar (Tahoe style switches).

I kept all the colors for continuity, but adapted everything to the new rounder icon format and obviously had to remove the protruding stand as custom shapes are no longer supported in Tahoe.

On the positive side, the icon is now fully vector based and can render in all Tahoe modes (light, dark, glass, tinted etc). To keep things uniform, this updated icon will be shown when running the app in older macOS versions (although technically I could make it so that in that case the app has the older app icons).
