Why Flare

Managing autoimmune disease means attending appointments, adjusting medications, and trying to communicate how you actually feel to a specialist you see for fifteen minutes every few months. The gap between clinic visits is where the real picture lives — and most people fill it with nothing, or with a note in the margins of their phone.

Flare Journal closes that gap. It gives you a structured, clinically grounded way to record your disease activity between appointments, so when you sit across from your rheumatologist or gastroenterologist, you have data rather than impressions.

Features

Validated Clinical Scores

17 validated scoring instruments across 14 autoimmune conditions — the same tools your specialists use. CDAI, Harvey-Bradshaw Index, BASDAI, ASDAS-CRP, DAS28-CRP, RAPID3, SDAI, cDAPSA, Q-SLAQ, FIQR, EDSS, ESSDAI, BDCAF, PMR-AS, JADAS, BVAS, and SCCAI. Your daily logs feed directly into these scores, producing output that is meaningful in a clinical context.

Longitudinal Charting

Disease activity is rarely a single moment — it is a pattern over time. Flare Journal charts your scores across weeks and months with severity-zone visualisations, making it possible to see how you are trending, whether a treatment is working, and when a flare is building before it peaks.

Share With Your Doctor

Your data is not locked inside the app. Export reports to share with your care team, turning months of daily tracking into a concise summary your doctor can act on.

Simple by Design

Chronic illness is hard enough without complex software. The daily log is designed to be completed in under two minutes. No accounts to manage, no onboarding flows, no friction.

How It Works

  1. Log daily symptoms in under two minutes using structured prompts matched to your condition.
  2. Scores are computed automatically using the validated clinical instrument for your condition.
  3. Share reports with your doctor ahead of appointments, giving your care team longitudinal data rather than a verbal summary.

Privacy

Health data is among the most sensitive personal information that exists. Flare Journal is built on a non-negotiable principle: the developer has no access to your data.

There are no user accounts, no analytics SDKs, and no data ever leaves your devices. Everything lives in your personal iCloud — encrypted, private, and under your control.
