To get things even more mainstream we need to have graduates with the skills.

Semantic Web unit:

  • will need to be approved by the organisation at quite a high level
  • is often an option, so needs to be chosen by the students
  • requires considerable expertise from staff across the whole subject

Material in a DB or WebDev unit:

  • may be easier to get approval (I think very easy in many UK institutions, but harder in other countries)
  • reaches every student
  • requirement for the staff expertise is less onerous

Can people share/author material for 10% of DB and WebApp units that would be useable by staff and useful for students?
(And if 10% is not enough to get people using the tech, then our whole endeavour is failing.)
