Removed from chrome store for containing malware #139
Comments
I was surprised to see a browser pop up that said TrackMeNot was somehow malware after I Brave auto-updated itself. This happened 10 minutes ago for me. I hope the TMN team can issue a tweet statement about this. |
Brave blocked it, but it is still working on Firefox. |
I've had this extension running for over ten years with no problem, now suddenly it's malware? How can I override Chrome's blocking of this? |
i'd like to weigh in that as @cirtbrethren notes, there have been no sudden changes to the codebase, and Google has a history of blocking these kind of projects as malware (like AdNauseum, made by some of the same researchers) |
also see the official statement here: http://trackmenot.io/googleban.html |
Is this legit, or is this just google doing google things because they're losing revenue due to this
