hey i was testing vpn hood and i found out in some process like call of duty games , vpn hood get recognized as third party app and because of that, COD HQ get crash. i did some testing and it happens only when VPNHood is connected ( if it is disconnected, things works fine )

We need to diagnose it so deeply to find it out.
Have you tried UDP mode?

If they don't accept the cloud server IP, there is no issue in VpnHood, and you need a server IP that does not recognized by the game. It happens when a game server actively rejects IPs from the famous cloud server (no home internet).
Does the game work with other VPNs, or does it try to block VPN access?

Perhaps I need to play Call of Duty to find out if there are any bugs and packet loss!
Let me know at which stage the problem occurs—at the start or the middle of the game. Does it crash, or does it just not connect?

i did test it and it's fine with other vpns ( i mean i used singbox as a example for with the same ip which i used for vpnhood ) and it was fine and it only have problem with vpnhood.

when i run and start COD in the start while it's trying to connect to server , it will check update and ... then it crash

Can you start VpnHood in Diagnose mode and send me the report.

  1. Start Diagnose
  2. Go to game and let it crash
  3. stop diagnose
  4. Send me the log file.

We will also fix the diagnostic report so you can send us the report too.
For the crash in game we need to try to simulate the issue in our systems, which takes more time.
This kind of issue is very difficult to identify, and it is extremely important to us.

Is is this?

Sorry, I have misunderstood. It is OK. The OpenReport is displayed after stop diagnosing:

  1. Start Diagnose
  2. Go to the game and let it crash
  3. stop diagnose
  4. We need the "Open Report" in VpnHood, which shows after you stop the diagnoser.
  5. Send me the log file.

yes, every new COD series from warzone to black ops 6 , use cod hq and first you have to open cod hq and the problem is when you start it and while it's redirecting you to the lobby , it crashes

Sorry, we could not find time to work on this yet. It is important to us, but more crucial stuff is on the table 😞

Hey, can I work on this issue? I'm also having problems with COD.

I believe this issue might be related to packet editing or similar activities. Call of Duty's anti-cheat system will close the game if it detects any unusual activity.

If you can give me some hints to get started, I'd like to work on this. I have Call of Duty as well

@ZenMaxe Thank you for trying to contribute. Recently, we have been very busy with some other parts of the project. It isn't due to the anti-cheat system, as we are working on the network layer, and packets must reach the destination unmodified. Also, other VPNs work on Call of Duty without any issues. Even if the anti-cheat system intervenes, it should not cause a crash.

Hints: I must admit it is not easy to detect this kind of issue.

  1. First, make sure the problem is in UDP or TCP. Exclude UDPs from the adapter (WinDivert) and see if it crashes, then do the same for TCP.
  2. I believe it is not due to TCP. For UDP, we need to make sure we calculate the checksum correctly and check the packet size MTU; you may need to monitor the network via WireShark and find the differences.

Once again, it is the most advanced VPN diagnosis; if you are still interested in solving the issue, you can ask me any question. It would be a great contribution to VpnHood.
