Placeholder for rendering objects

Hi - I've tried to look at ways to customize how the ongoing rendered object looks like.

For me its links which are annotated [blocked] untill the link is streamed out complete. What would be nice was the ability to cusomize the inplace object untill stream completes. Ie a spinner - dots, just the link name etc. I imagine this could be useful for other objects as well.

Is there appetatie for this and even possible?
