Instead of plugging in on the front, the LED can plug into the back of the board where the slot is goes through is. Pros: slightly reduce wire needed, protected from getting caught on things, looks a little better(?) Cons: increased ordering to assembly, reduced tolerance for wire length, potently harder to plug in
