Have an alternative to discord for reporting bugs and communication for pull requests #1410

I understand the point, but you simply can't make everyone happy. Discord is not the best option, but it's widely adopted and doesn't necessarily add up costs to the maintainer(s). In the perfect world, every one would be happy and all communication needs to be cross synced between matrix, discord, IRC, telegram, WhatsApp, Threema.. I think you get the point. I once again want to make this clear: You have a valid point, but adding this as an additional burden to the maintainer(s) is not beneficial for the development of GameNative (IMHO). The focus is probably getting the best gaming experience out there, not making everyone happy on how they can or have to report bugs or request features. If GameNative at some point is that big that they have a whole community manager department, then this would make total sense, but until then, it's just adding stuff to the backlog, that is out of scope (IMHO). This is probably getting down-voted to hell, because people just see what they want and not what that means to maintainer(s) (in this case paying for a self hosted alternative and dealing with that or having so self host and manage this on their own and also have to pay for the infra.. ). |

I definitely will never use Discord, for a multitude of reasons, but especially for it being a privacy nightmare. I'm sure there's more than just the two of us in this boat. So that simply means that we can't submit issues and PRs. I know you're a small team, but this doesn't seem like an acceptable tradeoff for the growth of your project. Accepting github issues (and PRs without going through discord first), at least as a backup, seems like the least effort thing that could be done here to fix this issue. |

In the contribution guide it says "Please report bugs and request support through our Discord server. GitHub issues are automatically closed." And Before opening a PR:
My issue with this and having discord be the primary way of communication for gameantive development in general is that for me and im sure many other, i do not want to use discord because of the ID verification issue that they have doubled down on, and they are known to not be very secure and even had a data breach not too long ago leaking many government it's. The point is there should be alternatives rather than just discord I my opinion, Teamspeak,Zulip which is open source and can be self hosted, and Fluxer which i think would be the best option since it's open source, can be self hosted, and has very similar UI to discord however it still is in a public beta phase however it's development so far seems very promising and may even be ready to be used now, but that obviously would require testing.
