Agreed, it sounds interesting, but it also raises a lot of questions. Do you have a good example of an application that already has this functionality? I could use some inspiration...

That would be great as well, but on practice usually, grep/less is more general

Even splunk allows you to download logs, I don't remember anything else, but I don't use web interface too much
