Point by Point Advanced filtering
The filter panel allows you to manipulate the strategy that you are currently viewing. For example, as of 28/10/14, the Global Education Strategy has 25 operations. Suppose though, you would like to add a 26th that is not included in the strategy. This can be done with the filter panel. Conversely if you'd like to focus in on 10 of the 25 countries you can do that as well. Let's get started. You can open the filter panel by pressing this button:
Once you click that button the filter menu will open from the left hand side and you should see something like this:
You'll first notice at the top there are 4 tabs on this panel, Filter, Strategy, Indicator and Operation. Let's focus on the Filter tab which should be selected by default.
If you open the Operation accordion you will be able to see which Operations have been selected for that strategy. Go ahead and try turning a few of the operations off. Watch the dashboards automatically update to your selection. You can try this with the PPG, Goal or any other element.
Pretty easy. Now if you want to add an operation that isn't already in the strategy it's pretty simple. You should see a search box above the list of checkboxes:
Try searching for Afghanistan. You will see Afghanistan appear in a dropdown under the search. Click on it. Axis will now load the appropriate data for Afghanistan. It will also automatically load any dependent elements. In this case, Axis will load 3 additional PPGs for Afghanistan. You can see this by opening the PPG accordion. There will also be a note signifying that this element is not in the core strategy.
There's also a button at the bottom that says "Save as my personal strategy." Don't worry about this yet, we'll cover it in the [Strategy Building](Point by Point Strategy Building) chapter.
The other tabs, Strategy, Indicator and Operation simply provide you with navigation to jump to other operation pages or strategy pages.
