Ran into the same problem, went crazy trying to figure it out, this link ended up having the answer: I had to remove the files /usr/include/linux/uuid.h and /usr/include/uuid.h from my system (moved them from their location). I'm not sure which file was the issue, but this allowed the compile/install to proceed successfully.
