Prerequisites

  • I verified that this is not a filter issue
  • This is not a support issue or a question
  • I performed a cursory search of the issue tracker to avoid opening a duplicate issue
    • Your issue may already be reported.
  • I tried to reproduce the issue when...
    • uBlock Origin is the only extension
    • uBlock Origin with default lists/settings
    • using a new, unmodified browser profile
  • I am running the latest version of uBlock Origin
  • I checked the documentation to understand that the issue I report is not a normal behavior

Description

Individual page scopes are still listed in the logger scope even after they're closed in Nightly and take x amount of time to get removed.

Team discussion - https://github.com/orgs/uBlockOrigin/teams/ublock-issues-volunteers/discussions/147

A specific URL where the issue occurs

No specific URL, but has happened after browsing google.com, twitter.com, facebook.com etc..

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Keeping the logger open, browse to google/facebook/twitter profile(if you have one and each in separate tabs), scroll up and down a bit.

  2. Close those facebook/google/twitter tabs except logger click on the drop-down button of the logger scope to see closed tabs/pages pages listed.

Expected behavior:

Those individual page scopes to get removed from the logger scope once you close respective page tabs.

Actual behavior:

Individual page scopes are still listed in the logger scope even after the respective tabs pertaining to the those pages are closed

Your environment

  • uBlock Origin version: 1.22.5rc3
  • Browser Name and version: Firefox Nightly 71
  • Operating System and version: Win 10

Maybe someone else who can reproduce could investigate what is going on.

Almost two years now and no-one has stepped up, so I don't think so. Will-reopen if someone reports this.
