What needs to be fixed?

There is no definition on the mechanism that a service account, or credentials are generally applied to the connector. After talking on the discord, it's apparent that the documentation simply needs to be updated to reflect that the service account metadata is retrieved from the GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS environment variable.
