Only show new-node plus sign if a node is expanded and has no children

We seem to be following this rule except for nodes that have fields as children.

Essentially: hide the plus symbol if a node has child field nodes.

right now we're checking if there are children, and so we need to also check if there are fields (and if so, hide the plus node)
