return -EINVAL and update callers to handle < 0 (don’t call NLMSG_SPACE/PUT), and make selnl_add_payload() mirror that softer behavior (no BUG()). |

By this minor patch, we can handle unknown message types more gracefully without triggering a kernel panic.
