How-To

1. Just install it in your JTL-Shop >= v5.0.0

2. Adjust the Configuration in the "Settings"-Tab

I hope it is "self explanatory" - if not contact me :).

Currently there is only one "reasonable" mode/strategy for the image placement.

The mode "Verdreht versetzt (für Demonstrationszwecke der Erweiterbarkeit)"/"Flipped Offset (for demonstration of the extensibility)" is, as it named, only implemented to the demonstrate the extendability of the plugin.

Note: Changes here will drop and recreate all generated images at the next cron-job run

3. Test your configuration via "Re-Create acategory image"-Tab

For Testing you can use the "Bild neu generieren (einzeln)"/"Re-Create acategory image"-Tab. There you can generate/override a image for a given category with the current settings.

4. Let the cron-job do the job

By default, the cron-job starts at 00:00. Adjust it to your needs. Dependent on the count of categories - generation could take some time.

To check the progress, you can check the logs. The logs are prefixed with "Category-Image-Generation-CronJob"

5. Enjoy the generated images

Note: If you download a release from there, you have to change the plugin-folder name to t4it_category_image_generation.

Troubleshooting

Generated images are not displayed

1. Clear your browser cache / Check your shop in a "incognito"-window
2. In the Shop-Backend
   • clear the template cache (System->Cache)
   • clear the category-image cache (Troubleshooting->Images)
